James Atha Phillips 
James Atha was born on March 18th, 1878 in Marshall County, Mississippi.1 James Atha's father was Christopher Columbus Phillips and his mother was Martha Jane Hunsucker. His paternal grandparents were C C Phillips and J H Smith; his maternal grandparents were Asa Hunsucker and Dica Williams. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William Lafayette, Christopher Columbus, Elic Shephard, Alamo N, Leonard Fillmore Jackson, Margaret H, Martha Pearl and Camilla Lee. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 78 on June 2nd, 1956 in Texas. He was buried in June 1956 in Evergreen Cemetery, Lamar County, Texas.1 1 General Notes
