George Anderson was born on January 10th, 1910 in Roxton, Lamar County, Texas.1 George Anderson's father was George Anderson Kirkham and his mother was Sarah E Moore. His maternal grandparents were Frank Moore and Nancy Jane Runions. He had a brother and a sister, named Clarence and Gladys M. He was the youngest of the three children. He died at the age of 75 on August 6th, 1985 in St Josephs Hospital, Paris, Lamar County, Texas. He was buried on August 8th, 1985 in Evergreen Cemetery, Lamar County, Texas.1 1 General Notes

LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, 8 Aug 1985. 'G.A. Kirkham, 321-8th SE, died at St.
Joseph's Hospital at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, 6 Aug 1985. Funeral services were
held Thursday, 8 Aug., at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Glynn
V ickers officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Kirkham was
born 10 Jan 1910, in Roxton, a son of G.A. Kirkham Sr. and Sarah Moore
Kirkham. He a ttended Roxton schools and married Miss Valta Lee Hodgin on
30 Nov 1939 [tomb stone has 27 Nov]. He was a retired salesman working for
Howerton Motor Co. f or 20 years where he was a member of the 500 Club for
15 years. He had lived in Paris since 1938. Surviving are his wife; one
daughter, Joyce Anita Wheele r of DeSoto;
two grandchildren, George Lee Preston of DeSoto and Sandra Jo Pre ston
Smolesky of Houston; three great grandchildren; one sister, Gladys
Car penter of Paris.'
