Arthur L was born on April 22nd, 1881 in Hempstead County, Arkansas.1 Arthur L's father was Thomas Jefferson Hartsfield and his mother was Celia Catherine Honeycutt. His paternal grandparents were Matthew Hartsfield and Mary Magdaline Holly; his maternal grandparents were Albert Honeycutt and Elizabeth Jane Anderson. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named Benjamine, Thomas Jefferson, Ada Leona, Mary Elizabeth, Idelia Virginia, Iva Lillie, Alberta Mattie, Emma Frances and Bedia Beatrice. He was the third oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 1 on July 13th, 1882 in Hempstead County, Arkansas.1 General Notes
