Fred Garrett 
Fred was born in ,,Georgia. Fred's father was James M. Garrett and his mother was Martha Unknown. His paternal grandparents were John Garrett and Mary Elizabeth (Polly) Osborn. He had a brother named J. William (Will).General Notes
Lucius Garrett's grandson told the story of how Fred and his brother
were orphans and had come to Okla later then the rest of the family,
they were living in Pontotoc Co. evidentaly one night when Fred and his
uncle William Jordan Garrett were drinking and driving home in a buggy,
Fred shot up in the air to scare William and the horse spooked and
reared up and the gun went off a second time killing William. William
died in 1905 and is buried at Pontotoc cemetery. Thomas said Fred is
buried at Springcreek and died from a kidney disease, Nancy Charlton
