Lou Ella was born on January 6th, 1885 in Valley Spring, Llano Co., Texas.1 Lou Ella's father was David Crockett Wasdin Bardin and her mother was Adelia Jane Elliott. Her paternal grandparents were Jesse James Bardin and Abigail Smith; her maternal grandparents were Samuel Elliott and Mary Garland. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Frank Lee, Joseph Andrew, Samuel Jesse, Mary Abigail, Nancy Elizabeth, Elizabeth Ann and Davie Belle. She was the fourth oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 79 in 1964 in Valley Spring, Llano Co., Texas.1 General Notes
