!Oliver Welch and Nona Allison were both born in Vance, Real Co.,
Texas. They were also married in Vance on May 24, 1920. They had
eight children. Bud, as Oliver was called by all his friends, worked
as a rancher all his life with Nona by his side. Bud died in an
automobile accident on a Sunday night, July 17, 1966 at the age of 63
years. His funeral services were held at the Vance Baptist Church
with the Pastor, Rev. Richard Mayberry officiating. Nona died in the
Memorial Hospital in Uvalde, Texas on June 4, 1985 at age 82. Her
funeral services were at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 6, 1985 in the Vance
Baptist Church, followed by burial in the Vance Cemetery. Rev. Paul
Carlton officiated.
