Howell Lewis Read 
Howell Lewis was born in December 1791 in Brushy Forest, Charlotte Co., Va. Howell Lewis' father was Colonel Jonathan Read and his mother was Jane Lewis. His paternal grandparents were Col. Clement Reade and Mary Hill; his maternal grandparents were John Lewis and UNKNOWN Jane. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Isaac, John Lewis, Thomas Hill, Edmund, Charles Lewis, Charles, Mildred Howell, Mary Howell, Margaret Howell and Elizabeth Warner. He died at the age of 75 on February 15th, 1867 in Haywood, Tennessee.-
