Samuel Hancock 
Samuel was born in 1765 in Bute County, North Carolina. Samuel's father was Samuel Hancock and his mother was Mildred Dawson. He had five brothers and two sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Martin, William New, John, Dawson, Simon, Sarah, Mildred and Molly. He died at the age of 52 in 1817 in Wilson County, Tennessee.General Notes
Samuel married Verlinda Skeen, daughter of Matthew Skeen and Ruth/Rutha Lamar. Samuel's niece, Edy Hancock (daughter of Samuel's brother Martin) married Verlinda's brother, John Skeen.
