William Henry Whitney 
William Henry was born on June 29th, 1798 in Darien, CT.1 William Henry's father was Henry Whitney and his mother was Prudence Grey. His paternal grandparents were Eliasaph Whitney and Mary Bishop. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Platt, Harvey, James, Alfred Eliasaph, John, George, Richard Lewis, Nancy, Sally, Louisa and Betsy Ann. He was the fifth oldest of the twelve children.-
