George Whitney 
George was born on March 14th, 1811 in Great Barrington, Berkshire, MA.1 George's father was Henry Whitney and his mother was Prudence Grey. His paternal grandparents were Eliasaph Whitney and Mary Bishop. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Platt, Harvey, William Henry, James, Alfred Eliasaph, John, Richard Lewis, Nancy, Sally, Louisa and Betsy Ann. He was the second youngest of the twelve children.-
