Platt Whitney 
Platt was born on September 28th, 1789 in Darien, CT.1 Platt's father was Henry Whitney and his mother was Prudence Grey. His paternal grandparents were Eliasaph Whitney and Mary Bishop. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Harvey, William Henry, James, Alfred Eliasaph, John, George, Richard Lewis, Nancy, Sally, Louisa and Betsy Ann. He was the oldest of the twelve children.-
