Hannah Louisa was born in 1848 in Masontown, Fayette, PA.1 Hannah Louisa's father was John Alexander Province and her mother was Euphemia Thompson. Her paternal grandparents were David Province and Agnes Hartley. She had five brothers and three sisters, named George Neff, Thomas T, John Alexander, David Jefferson, William M, Elizabeth A, Charity Ann and Euphemia A. She was the fourth oldest of the nine children. She had a half-brother named Charles Alexander.-
