Charity Ann was born in 1845 in Masontown, Fayette, PA.1 Charity Ann's father was John Alexander Province and her mother was Euphemia Thompson. Her paternal grandparents were David Province and Agnes Hartley. She had five brothers and three sisters, named George Neff, Thomas T, John Alexander, David Jefferson, William M, Elizabeth A, Hannah Louisa and Euphemia A. She was the third oldest of the nine children. She had a half-brother named Charles Alexander.-
