Amie was born in 1838 in Lee, Lee, IA.1 Amie's father was David Galland and her mother was Druzilla Dragoo. Her paternal grandparents were Abel Galland and Amy Furby; her maternal grandfather was John Ephraim Dragoo. She had six brothers and two sisters, named William, Benjamin, William Wallace, Andrew Jackson, John Clinton, Andrew Jackson, Fanny and Perthenia Eveline. She was the second oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 28 in 1866 in , Crawford, IA.1 -
