Jemina was born in 1677 in Newbury, Essex, MA.1 Jemina's father was Peter Cheney and her mother was Hannah Noyes. Her paternal grandparents were John Cheney and Martha Parrat; her maternal grandparents were Nicholas Noyes and Mary Cutting. She had eight brothers and five sisters, named Peter, John, Nicholas, Nathaniel, Nathaniel, Nathaniel, Eldad, Ichabod, Huldah, Mary, Martha, Hanna and Lydia. She was the sixth youngest of the fourteen children.-
