William Cary 
William was born in 1727 in Windham, Windham, CT.1 William's father was John Cary and his mother was Hannah Thurston. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Cary and Mercy Bushnell; his maternal grandparents were John Thurston and Hannah Cary. He had six brothers and two sisters, named John, Benajah, Joseph, Jonathan, Nathaniel, Samuel, Phebe and Mercy. He was the fourth youngest of the nine children.-
