Adeline was born in 1114 in of Leicester, Leicestershire, England.1 Adeline's father was Robert de Beaumont de Meulan Earl of Leicester and her mother was Isabella Capet de Crépi de Vermandois. Her paternal grandparents were Roger de Beaumont Earl of Meulan and Adeline de Meulan Cts of Meulan; her maternal grandparents were Hugh Magnus de Crépi Mar of Orléans and Adelar de Vermandois Cts of Vermandois. She had two brothers and a sister, named Robert "Bossu" de Beaumont II, Waleran de Beaumont and Isabella. She was the youngest of the four children. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named William de Warenne III, Gundrada and Adelaide (Ada).-
