Ruby's father was Claude Eugene Wheeler and her mother was Anna Shealy. Her maternal grandparents were William Charlton Shealy and Frances Emma Monts. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Cyril Maloy, Forest, Maloy, Louetta, Annie Mae and Estelle.-
