Forest's father was Claude Eugene Wheeler and his mother was Anna Shealy. His maternal grandparents were William Charlton Shealy and Frances Emma Monts. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Cyril Maloy, Maloy, Louetta, Annie Mae, Estelle and Ruby.-
