Sara Elizabeth's father was Joseph Pinkney Summer and her mother was Mary C. Huffman. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Sebastian Huffman and Mary Elizabeth Summer. She had eight brothers and three sisters, named James C., John, Homer Huffman, Joseph Thomas, LeRoy Efird, Claude Pinkney, William Elton, Frank Glymph, Lilly Ioler (Ola), Mudge and Bessie Alleath.-
