Laura A. was born about 1852.1 Laura A.'s father was Mark Walter Shealy and her mother was Missouri Fulmer. Her paternal grandparents were John Ventle Shealy and Eva Margaret Sease. She had a sister named Jane. She was the older of the two children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Preston Sanders, Walter Killian and Alice Josephine.-
