Frederick Grigg 
Frederick was born in 1768 in Dinwiddie County, VA.1 Frederick's father was Jesse Grigg and his mother was Nancy Webb. His paternal grandparents were Abner Grigg and Mary Ford. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Bannister, Lewis, Abner, Burwell, William Grigg, Burwell, Woodford, Francis and Betsy. He had a half-brother and five half-sisters, named Joel, Polly, Prissy, Sarah, Fannie and Elizabeth R.. He died at the age of 94 in 1862 in Lawndale, Rutherford County, NC.1 General Notes

His tombstone in the old city cemetery in Lawndale, NC is inscribed 1768-1862. The 1850 Census records of NC say Frederick Grigg (age 74) was born in VA. He was then living on 200 acres with his daughter, Matilda Grigg, age 47. Frederick Grigg is famous for building the Palm Tree Methodist Church in Lawndale, NC. Was he the minister of this church? Frederick II did not acquire land until June 25, 1812 when be bought 100 acres on the west side of the "First Broad River"(a small stream) joining Burwell Grigg's line, including improvements where he then lived, from William Crowder (his father-in-law?).
