Bannister Grigg 
Bannister was born in 1788 in Mecklenburg County, VA.1 Bannister's father was Burwell Grigg and his mother was Sabra Elam. His paternal grandparents were Jesse Grigg and Nancy Webb. He had ten brothers and four sisters, named John Elam, Jesse, Bolling, Burwell, Abner, Edward, Frederick, Richardson, Daniel, Samuel, Phebe, Jane, Nancy and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the fifteen children.1 -
