Sue was born on June 16th, 1885 in Darlington county, S.C..1   Sue's father was William Troy Gibson and her mother was Susan Sparrow.  Her paternal grandparents were Nelson Kinsey Gibson and Sarah Rachel Thomas. She had two brothers and three sisters, named William Troy, Edwin Lee, Ella Jane, Margaret Irene and Mamie.  She was the second youngest of the six children.  She died at the age of 83 in March 1969 in Lydia, South Carolina.1
