William de Ferrers Earl of Derby 
William de Ferrers was born about 1136.1 William de Ferrers' father was Robert (William) de Ferrers Earl of Derby and his mother was Margaret Peverel. His paternal grandparents were Robert de Ferrers Earl of Derby and Hawise de Vitre; his maternal grandparents were William Peverel the Younger Lord Nottingham and Avice de Lancaster. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named William and Milisent. He died before October 21st, 1190 in Siege of Acre, Palestine.1 General Notes

There is substantial confusion over his name. See The Complete
Peerage
V4.p193 for an account. Personally, I feel there could have
been two brothers,
William and Robert. Robert being the Earl and when he died at
Acre his
nephew William son of his brother William suceeded, but no
documents
support this theory either!
