Robert de Burgo de Mortain was born in Normandy, France.1   Robert de Burgo de Mortain's father was Herluin de Burgo and his mother was Herleva de Falaise.  His paternal grandfather was Jean de Conteville Lord Tonsburgh; his maternal grandparents were Fulbert de Falaise and Duxia de Falaise. He had a sister named Emma. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Robert, William II the Bastard, William and Adeliza de Normandy.  He died on December 8th, 1090 in France.1
