Martha Catherine was born on November 16th, 1840 in Darlington District, SC.1 Martha Catherine's father was Evander Byrd and her mother was Elizabeth Mason. Her paternal grandparents were William Byrd and Mary Griggs; her maternal grandparents were David Mason and Rachel Fountain. She had a brother named Evander John Culpepper. She had five half-brothers and three half-sisters, named David Taylor, Alex Fountain, James Peter, Lewis Shuck, William Mason, Martha Catherine, Mary Ann and Sarah Elizabeth. She died at the age of 59 on July 2nd, 1900 in DeSoto Parish, LA.1 -
