Franklin Middleton was born on September 13th, 1919 in Clinton, Laurens County, South Carolina.1 Franklin Middleton's father was Franklin Middleton Boland and his mother was Ella Theodosia Sproles. His paternal grandparents were David Boland and Ella Epting. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Francis Marion, David Donald, Janella Sproles, Marguerite Sproles and Adeline Sproles. He was the second youngest of the six children.-
