Her paternal grandparents were Reeves Tinsley and Martha A. ?; her maternal grandparents were James Bolton Smith and Mary ?. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Albert Newton, Joseph M., Francis Baker, Victoria Lee, Elenora, Cora Lee, Mary E. and Bessie. She was the youngest of the nine children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Seth H., Sam Coleman and Virginia.-
