Jacob was born on December 6th, 1758. Jacob's father was Moses Seay and his mother was Elizabeth Luck. His paternal grandparents were Jacob Seay and Rachel Wingo; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Luck and Mary Phillips. He had five brothers and a sister, named Samuel, John, Bernard, Dudley, Austin and Anna. He was the oldest of the seven children.-
