Phillip was born in 1792 in NC. Phillip's father was Mathew J. Pryor and his mother was Mary Neeley. His paternal grandparents were Green Pryor and Elizabeth Perkins; his maternal grandparents were William Neeley and Eleanor ?. He had six brothers and a sister, named Mathew J., William, Green Hill, Samuel, John Henry, Seth and Mary. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.-
