Jean Lowrie was born on April 3rd, 1905. Jean Lowrie's father was Nathaniel Dandridge Pendleton and her mother was Beatrice Walton Childs. Her paternal grandparents were Philip Coleman Pendleton and Catherine Sarah Melissa Tebeau; her maternal grandparents were Walter Cannon Childs and Edith Smith. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Philip Childs, Willard Dandridge, Martha Childs and Nancy Tebeau. She was the third oldest of the five children. She had a half-sister named Ora Cornelia.-
