Phoebe Stoval was born on February 8th, 1837 in Halifax Co., VA. Phoebe Stoval's father was Henderson Overbey and her mother was Elizabeth Royster. Her paternal grandparents were Peter Z. Overbey and Ann Yancey. She had a brother and five sisters, named Robert Ajacks Jove, Stellah E. Annebel, Ann Elizabeth, Mary Virginia, Caroline Royster and Pantheah Royall. She was the second youngest of the seven children.-
