Mary Virginia was born on October 15th, 1833 in Halifax Co., VA. Mary Virginia's father was Henderson Overbey and her mother was Elizabeth Royster. Her paternal grandparents were Peter Z. Overbey and Ann Yancey. She had a brother and five sisters, named Robert Ajacks Jove, Stellah E. Annebel, Ann Elizabeth, Caroline Royster, Phoebe Stoval and Pantheah Royall. She was the fourth oldest of the seven children.-
