Caroline Royster was born on August 16th, 1835 in Halifax Co., VA. Caroline Royster's father was Henderson Overbey and her mother was Elizabeth Royster. Her paternal grandparents were Peter Z. Overbey and Ann Yancey. She had a brother and five sisters, named Robert Ajacks Jove, Stellah E. Annebel, Ann Elizabeth, Mary Virginia, Phoebe Stoval and Pantheah Royall. She was the third youngest of the seven children.-
