John Nicholas 
John was born in 1756. John's father was Robert Carter Nicholas and his mother was Ann Cary. His paternal grandparents were George Nicholas and Elizabeth Carter; his maternal grandparents were Wilson Cary and Sarah Pate. He had five brothers and four sisters, named George, Wilson Cary, Lewis, Robert, Philip Norborne, Sarah, Elizabeth Carter, Mary and Judith. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 64 in 1820.-
