Eliza C. was born on December 27th, 1804. Eliza C.'s father was Joshua Lewis and her mother was America Lawson. Her maternal grandparents were Robert Lawson and Sarah Meriwether Pierce. She had nine brothers and two sisters, named John Lawson, Theodore, Stephen, Alfred Jefferson, John Hampden, Algernon Sidney, George Washington, Columbus Lawson, Benjamin Franklin, Sidonia Pierce and Louise Maria. She was the fifth oldest of the twelve children.-
