William Minter Layne 
William Minter was born on September 15th, 1805. William Minter's father was Tarlton Layne and his mother was Tabitha Minter. His paternal grandparents were Ayers Layne and Mary Woodson; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Anthony Minter and Elizabeth ?. He had a brother and six sisters, named Woodson, Elizabeth, Mary, Nancy, Roxannah, Tabitha and Mariah Nox. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 83 on November 6th, 1888 in Benton Co., Indiana.-
