John William Lawrence 
John William was born on October 26th, 1862 in Hanover Co., VA. John William's father was William Quarles Lawrence and his mother was Mary Etta Woodson. His paternal grandparents were Lewis Lawrence and Sarah A. Terrell; his maternal grandparents were John Peter Woodson and Evelina Britton. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Abbott Alpheus, James Quarles, Bernard Ashby, Infant, Walter Lewis, Mary Lewis, Alphra Mildred and Etta Woodson. He was the fourth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 81 on December 13th, 1943.-
