Abbott Alpheus Lawrence 
Abbott Alpheus was born on May 2nd, 1854 in Hanover Co., VA. Abbott Alpheus' father was William Quarles Lawrence and his mother was Mary Etta Woodson. His paternal grandparents were Lewis Lawrence and Sarah A. Terrell; his maternal grandparents were John Peter Woodson and Evelina Britton. He had five brothers and three sisters, named John William, James Quarles, Bernard Ashby, Infant, Walter Lewis, Mary Lewis, Alphra Mildred and Etta Woodson. He was the oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 81 on May 13th, 1935.-
