Clarence Thurston was born on November 13th, 1916 in Scottsville, Fluvanna Co., VA. Clarence Thurston's father was Clarence Wingo Kidd and his mother was Mary Isabella Marshall. His paternal grandparents were James Taylor Kidd and Ella Gray Richardson; his maternal grandparents were John Marshall and Lydia Helena McDannell. He had four sisters named Viola Bernice, Vera Marjorie, Clara Mae and Eva Jane. He was the oldest of the five children.-
