Charles was born on November 7th, 1766 in Louisa Co., VA. Charles' father was Stephen Hunter and his mother was Mary Statham. His paternal grandparents were Andrew Hunter and Jane ?; his maternal grandparents were Love Statham and Martha Meriwether. He had four brothers and four sisters, named John, William, Samuel, George, Nancy, Mary, Mildred and Martha. He was the fourth oldest of the nine children.-
