Ora Mae was born on April 27th, 1900 in Orange, Virginia. Ora Mae's father was James Garland Harlow and her mother was Ida B. McAllister. Her paternal grandparents were James Richard Harlow and Rebecca B. White; her maternal grandparents were John McAllister and Lena Marshall. She had two brothers and a sister, named Chester Lee, George Raymond and Virgie Florence. She was the second youngest of the four children. She had six half-brothers and a half-sister, named Thomas Jefferson, James Dickerson, Joseph Burress, Adolphus, Lucian Minor, Willie P. and Annie Burrus. She died at the age of 89 on February 28th, 1990 in Orange, Virginia.-
