Hugh Joseph Collard 
Hugh Joseph was born in 1911. Hugh Joseph's father was George Washington Collard and his mother was Sallie L. Ruffin. His maternal grandparents were Henry James Ruffin and Winnie Virginia Jinks. He had seven brothers and a sister, named Henry W., Charles L., Franklin George, Clyde Vernon, Theodore Roosevelt, Hatton William, Joe Edward and Genevieve. He was the fourth youngest of the nine children.
