Jacob was born about 1777 in Nottoway Co., VA. Jacob's father was Edmund Borum and his mother was Edith Seay. His paternal grandparents were Richard Borum and Judith ?; his maternal grandparents were Jacob Seay and Rachel Wingo. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Benjamin, William Richard, James, John Wilson, Mary and Sarah.
