Laura Eudora was born on December 7th, 1854 in Clifton, Wayne, TN. Laura Eudora's father was William Alexander Foster Barry and her mother was Jane Meriwether Taylor. Her paternal grandparents were Valentine Barry and Martha Adams; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Horton Taylor and Frances Ann Lewis. She had a brother and four sisters, named Thomas Taylor, Frances Lewis, Williah Jane, Julia Darling and Minnie Christian. She was the third youngest of the six children. She had two half-brothers named Daniel F. and William Henry.-
