Mary Polly was born on September 3rd, 1787 in Edgefield, Edgefield, South Carolina, USA.1 Mary Polly's father was Roger Mackerness Williams and her mother was Catherine Read Quarles. Her paternal grandparents were Luke Williams and Lucy Williams; her maternal grandparents were James Quarles and Catherine Read. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Mackerness Goode, Sterling Quarles, Butler, Elizabeth, Elizabeth (Betsy) and Catherine (Caty) Read. She was the second oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 55 on June 10th, 1843 in Edgefield, Edgefield, South Carolina, USA. She was buried in South Carolina, USA.1 General Notes
