Butler Williams

Butler was born in 1802 in Edgefield, South Carolina, USA.¹ Butler's father was Roger Mackerness Williams and his mother was Catherine Read Quarles. His paternal grandparents were Luke Williams and Lucy Williams; his maternal grandparents were James Quarles and Catherine Read. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Mackerness Goode, Sterling Quarles, Elizabeth, Mary Polly, Elizabeth (Betsy) and Catherine (Caty) Read. He was the youngest of the seven children. He died at the age of 48 on July 20th, 1850 in Edgefield, South Carolina, USA.¹
