Весела's father was Димитър Стоянчов and her mother was Зойка.  Her paternal grandparents were Стоянчо(Стефан) Пенев (Пенювич) Ахтар and Киряки Стоянова Пенева. She had four brothers and a sister, named Стоян, Владимир, Любомир, Янко and Елена.
