Peder was born in 1729.  Peder's father was Borge Anderson and his mother was Gullbjorg Jorgensdotter. He had ten brothers and two sisters, named Jorgen, Anders, Jon, Knut, Hans, Ole, Rasmus, Ole, Sofie, Knut, Elen Katrine and Kari.  He was the sixth oldest of the thirteen children.
